Top o’ the morning to you, my queens!
I’ve had a ridiculously busy week and change, which means I am QUITE behind on my coverage of Kate and Will’s tour of Ireland.
But rest assured, that does NOT mean I wasn’t following the fashion. And when I spotted Kate in this shimmering, emerald, ruffled midi-dress, courtesy of It Brit brand The Vampire’s Wife, I almost lost it, not because the dress is a stunner — though she is — but because I was well aware of a near-duplicate of the dress.
And said dress is on sale right now — for just $66!
BUT, as always, I’m getting ahead of myself. Let’s back up for a little background.
So, as you surely know, Kate and Will are currently in the midst of a whirlwind three-day tour of Ireland. The first day included meeting Ireland’s president, Michael D. Higgins, and his wife, Sabina. (And, of course, their Bernese Mountain Dogs, Bród and Síoda. 😩) They also rang Dublin’s “peace bell” and visited the city’s Garden of Remembrance.
For all of that, Kate donned a double-breasted Catherine Walker coat with a boldly printed Alessandra Rich dress, teamed with an L.K. Bennett clutch and sky-high Emmy London pumps — all, of course, in shades of Irish green.
But for the evening reception at Guinness Storehouse’s Gravity Bar, she opted for glitz — the metallic Vampire’s Wife “Falconetti” dress, paired with a gold Wilbur and Gussie clutch (a repeat), gold statement earrings by H&M (on sale for $6 and hopefully to be re-stocked soon!), and new velvet Manolos.

This is Gal Meets Glam’s “Carrie” Dress, and just like Kate’s dress, it boasts nonstop shimmer (courtesy of allover sequins), three-quarter-length trumpet sleeves, and a hemline that’s not floor-sweeping (making it pretty versatile, IMO!).
