Kate Recycles Her Berry Oscar de la Renta Skirt Suit to Open The Nook Children’s Hospice

Well, look at this breath of fresh fall air!

Today, Kate’s officially opening The Nook Children’s Hospice, the latest of East Angelia’s Children’s Hospices, one of the first organizations Kate took on as a patron at the start of her royal life.

And her choice ensemble for the occasion? One of her brightest, most cheerful skirt suits — her purple Oscar de la Renta skirt suit, complete with peplum and pleated details.

As the weather is officially quite autumnal these days, the Duchess of Cambridge also added my favorite fall accessory — opaque black tights (preferably lined with fleece, if you’re me!) — plus her Gianvito Rossi block heels, the croc Aspinal clutch she debuted last week, and Catherine Zoraida’s “Fern Hoop Earrings” for a touch of shine.

Also on display today? That BHE (big hair energy!).

A little more about the hospice itself: As noted, EACH was one of Kate’s first patronages. Five years ago, she launched an appeal for funds for this specific center, which cares for severely ill children, and today, she got to see the fruits of that $13 million (!) initiative firsthand.

The new center is said to be a vast improvement over the old one, as it comes complete with a clinical care center and multiple therapy rooms. Kate is a big proponent of art therapy in particular (she also promotes this in her role as the patron of the The Royal Photographic Society), so she must have been thrilled to see the resources!

As so many people were excited to see her.

Take this incredibly touching detail from People: “Kate was greeted by excited children from Poringland Primary School and Framingham Earl High School and and Hobart High Schools waving flags. They welcomed the royal and proudly told her they had raised more than $1,300 towards The Nook.”

Tear! You can see them taking to her in this video — so sweet.

XO, Rose

P.S. If you love the look, I pulled a few berry blazers — all under $200! — for you to peruse (below). Enjoy!
