Everything Kate Wore for Her First Full Day in Pakistan — Including the Bedazzled Emerald Gown of My Dreams

As our girl always does, Kate came out swinging (in full Princess Jasmine-worthy attire!) on what was officially the first day of her and Prince William’s royal tour of Pakistan — though, technically, it was only an evening.

But yesterday was the Cambridges’ first full day in Pakistan, and Kate served up a trio of delicious — and culturally appropriate — styles for the occasion.

Kate and Will started the day by championing the importance of education — especially higher education for women ?  — by visiting with children of multiple local schools, including the Islamabad Model College for Girls.

As Kate was tucked in at school tables, then outside identifying plants and bird watching with the kids, it made sense that she chose a semi-casual — though no less lovely — second shalwar kameez, a periwinkle-blue set with intricate white embroidery and a matching two-toned shawl (called a dupatta) by one of Pakistan’s most famous designers, Maheen Khan.

For a touch of shine, she re-wore her blue Zeen earrings from the night before, plus added a pair of low nude heels.

After that, it was time for Kate and Will to meet with the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan, so naturally, she quick-changed into something a little more buttoned up. Quite literally! She slipped into a Kelly-green, tunic-inspired Catherine Walker jacket with covered buttons paired with cream slim-fit pants by the designer of her first look, Maheen Khan. She also rocked her green Zeen earrings again and a green chiffon dupatta with gold accents by Bonanza. (And since I told you the earrings were only $8, I feel I must also tell you that the dupatta is only $11! V reasonable.)

But the true glamour moment came at the end of the night when Kate and Will took a specially decorated tuk-tuk to the Pakistan National Monument — a stunner, check it out above! Also Will’s SMILE ? — for an evening celebrating the very best of Pakistani music and culture.

And can I just say: MOM AND DAD. ?

(I love this sweet moment between Kate and the driver.)

Of course, no surprise, Kate looked STUH-NING in the emerald green gown of my dreams, courtesy of one of her all-time faves, Jenny Packham (with custom O’nitaa earrings and Jimmy Choo sandals). That beading! The scalloped detailing on the dupatta! THE FIT. There’s nothing I can say but ?.

But I have to take a minute to appreciate William! Our dear prince rolled up in a traditional sherwani in a shade of deep teal, with beading at the collar and cuffs to boot. Not only did William seem to love the outfit — designed by Pakistani designer Nauman Arfeen — but, per People, he shared the fun fact that his dad, Prince Charles (or Chaz, as I affectionally like to call him), has one, too, and can often be spotted walking around Clarence House in it.

I don’t know why, but that detail truly sparked joy in me — as does this photo of Kate.

Day 1 was clearly a success! And while I plan to add a full blow-out post on green — Kate and Meghan are both really loving it right now! — I’ve added a few bedazzled green dresses below, because, honestly, they’re exactly what we need to be wearing this holiday season, no? (Yes.)

XO, Rose
